Some factors that determine particle size

  • Concentration
    Decrease in concentration decreases particle size

     
  • Diameter of flow restrictor (40 to 175 microns, no significant change in size)
     
  • Drying temperature
     
  • Viscosity and surface tension of soln.
     
  • Morphology: Solid vs. hollow particles
